Group Activity - Quad Biking
We'll start you off on one of our six 250cc KYMCO custom sports quad bikes, driving around on our warm-up test area. Before taking you onto our cross-country, multi-terrain woodland trail on a 5km trek, and at possible speeds of up to 40-45 miles per hour depending on your quad biking ability and confidence.
All participants are given a safety briefing and instruction on how to use the Automatic 300cc off-road quad bikes, which have a top speed of 45 MPH. You will then be kitted out with all the equipment needed such as, helmet, Gloves and Overalls (no nasty hidden extras - when we say ALL equipment, we mean ALL equipment) The trail starts with driving in and out of poles so that you can get used to the controls, and then drive around tight turns around cones at a faster speed. After this is completed we then take a run around our main quad trek. And for those of you who want to do something a bit more competitive, we can then do a time trial back around the cones to finish off. You will get a total of 25 minutes each on the quad bikes. The session will start 15 minutes prior to riding to have a safety briefing and to kit up.
Is it a race?
No, at Bristol activity centre we run a quad trek. Although our 300cc quad bikes can reach some fantastic speeds, we focus more on the driving skill aspect. You will drive varied terrain such as dirt tracks, woodland, grass field, and a long straight road, we take you up steep inclines and down hills.
It's an exhilarating trek around a large track which will really test your driving skill, and for those with more advanced capabilities our track extends with additional routes which will put your skills further to the test to navigate the trek.
This Trek is suitable for the complete novice who had never driven a quad before, right up to those with experience. We take the trek at your pace and it's all tailored to your skill.
What Should I wear?
We provide coveralls for you to wear on top of your clothes, along with gloves and of course a full face helmet. You will need suitable closed toe footwear - preferable sturdy boots, or trainers with grip.
Is it muddy?
Generally not, because we drive over a varied terrain which covers woodland, concrete road, cobbled stone roads, and fields. But we still recommend bringing a change of clothes just in-case you get wet from the rain.
Are they easy to drive?
The Quad bikes are very easy to drive for novices, they have a reverse gear, a low gear to climbing those hills, and a high gear for when you want to go a bit faster - simple!
Please note, we ask for a deposit at the start of your trek - this is a security deposit to ensure that there is no deliberate dangerous or careless driving which may damage our quad bikes. Of course we understand that accidents happen, and we are of course fully insured, but this is to prevent unnecessary/malicious damage.
